Hannah Marie Marcus
is a songwriter, musician
and multi-media artist
from New York City,
who is  lately making olfactory art.

As a songwriter and musician she’s written  recorded and performed in numerous  projects,  and  has collaborated with diverse artists including  Matana Roberts,  Nina Katchadourian, Jessica Moss, members of Godspeed You!Black Emperor, Mark Kozelek, Rick Moody and many others.  She is currently playing and recording with bassist Tim Dahl and drummer Kevin Shea.

 Marcus has created olfactory performance pieces and installations in New York  Los Angeles and the U.K.  She’s conducted scent seances and  is forming an alternate citron cult.

She is currently working on an ongoing process piece informally titled Hallucinations of a BDS Etrog. and is slowly piecing together a scent- inflected musical inspired by speculative events in the lives of chemists Hugo Schiff and Klara Immerwahr.

She also has a cajun band called Red Aces and an Ambient Noise duo called Wintersea Playboy.   She likes to play with sound, smell and narrative.
